After practicing as a barrister in London and subsequently as an advocate in private practice in Jersey, Sir Michael was appointed as Attorney General of Jersey in 1994. He served as Deputy Bailiff from 2000 – 2009 and as Bailiff from 2009 to 2015. He is currently a Commissioner (judge) of the Royal Court and a member of the Courts of Appeal of Jersey and of Guernsey. He was also appointed in 2018 to be a judge of the Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands.

Dr Georgina Dyson-Horton has long been a champion of people with severe and enduring mental illness and those that feel they do not have a voice in our society.  Throughout her career she has worked and volunteered in the charitable sector, both in the UK and in Jersey.  Her roles have involved managing people, projects and finances and over the past two and a half decades she has held a private counselling practice.  In addition to this she has held the role of Compliance Manager in the financial sector and so believes in good governance and ethical principles.

She firmly believes in supporting people to make informed decisions and when invited to join the board it was an easy decision to make as she had followed the work of My Voice since inception.  Three years later when Wendy Kinnard announced that she was standing down as Chairperson, Georgina was keen to take up the baton and continue to steer a steady ship.

Georgina believes that My Voice provides an invaluable service to the islanders of Jersey, often working under the radar, challenging prejudice and discrimination as well as offering dignity and support to those without a voice.

Ana is now an experienced and highly regarded Independent Capacity Advocate for My Voice Jersey, supporting vulnerable individuals in our community who may lack capacity to make important decisions affecting their life. She is also regularly involved in significant safeguarding processes. The role can be challenging at times but Ana is very good at implementing the law and keeping the person, their views and wishes at the centre of any decision making . Her input is regularly sought  by professionals across services.

Maya has worked across Mental Health Services since 2021, following the completion of her psychology degree. Maya is passionate about supporting people to express their views and access their rights and appreciates the value of having someone there to listen to you. Maya is enthusiastic, warm, and approachable, and is thoroughly enjoying her new role as a trainee Independent Mental Health Advocate at My Voice.
